Лихенометрические исследования на хр. Кордильера Бланка, Перу

В э том разделе приводится обзор лихенометрических и геоморфологических исследований, проведенных двумя независимыми научными коллективами в хр. Кордильера Бланка в Перу в 1996 и 2002 гг. на 66 моренах малого ледникового периода 14 ледников (Рис. 1). Сравнение результатов, полученных двумя группами исследователей независимо друг от друга, показывает их хорошую сходимость. Это позволило объединить данные лихеноме трических измерений и,  используя 11 новых контрольных точек (Рис. 2), заново откалибровать кривую роста лишайника Rhizocarpon geographicum sensu lato (Рис. 3). Полученная кривая затем была использована для датировки морен малого ледникового периода. Время формирования наиболее характерных и многочисленных конечных и береговых морен (1590-1720) западного макросклона хр. Кордильера Бланка, обращенного к Тихому океану, соответствует наиболее холодным и влажным периодам в тропических Андах, известным по данным глубокого кернового бурения ледников Уаскаран и Келькайя (Thompson et al, 2000). Менее значительное наступание ледников происходило между 1780 и 1880 гг. (Рис. 4).
